Will the sterling silver jewelry tarnish?
The answer is yes. Sterling silver jewelry tarnishes because sulfides in the air react with the metals that are in the sterling alloy. Also, sometimes people's body chemistry can react to the sterling causing it to tarnish more quickly. Wearing your silver jewelry will help keep the piece looking good as body oils actually help keep the piece from tarnishing.

How do I clean it if it is tarnished?
Since most of our silver jewelry has an oxidized base (liver of sulfur) to enhance the lettering DO NOT use any silver dipping solutions. If you use cleaning solutions, it will remove all of the black within the letters. Just wipe the surface with the soft inside layer of a jewelers polishing cloth.

For our polished collections we recommend using a jeweler's polishing cloth. If this does not restore the shine we suggest using a MILD cream polishing paste.

Matte Finished Jewelry
For our matte finished collections you can uses a rough scrubby (the kind you use to clean your dishes) to keep the matte appearance. Remember to "scrub" in the direction of the original finish only.

Our designs well under normal conditions but that doesn't mean you can mistreat them. Keep them in a jewelry box when they are not being worn. The small plastic bag they came in will help keep from from tarnishing or scratching against other jewelry. Never put them in the bottom of your purse, on the dashboard of your car, or left uncovered on a dresser. The chains we use are quite sturdy, but any chain will break if put under enough stress. In short, please treat your jewelry as the heirlooms we meant them to become someday ;-)

What if my silver chain or jewelry breaks? If this does happen, email us and we would be happy to offer a replacement chain at a nominal charge. However, depending on the design we may need to have it mailed back to us so we can repair it. We will give out a return authorization number so we can track the repair.
